Walker Text by Ronald Boyce Walker "While during in the US 8th Army occupation of Japan, Charlie Walker started a Country-Western band and performed in Yokohama. Japan's entertaiment venues. He and other Country Music fans asked the Armed Forces Radio to play some Country Music favorites and they agreed. Previously, they played patriotic American songs and Pop Music favorite as such artists as Frank Sinatra. Country Music eventually became very popular, not only American G.I.'s but with the Japanese."
