January 4, 1957 - Elvis arrived at the Kennedy Veterans Hospital in Memphis at 1:00 p.m. for a pre-induction physical for his draft status. He was accompanied by Dottie Harmony. They arrived in a cream-colored Cadillac. Elvis passed the physical and was given the Selective Service number 40 86 35 16. After putting Dottie on a plane for Los Angeles, Elvis took the train to New York for his third appearance at the Ed Sullivan show
