1948-1951 Wolf was at KWEM Radio in West Memphis, AR with James Cotton, Junior Parker, Ike Turner, Matt Guitar Murphy, Sonny Boy Williamson, Pat Hare, Willie Steele, Willie Nix, Willie Love, Elmore James, and B.B. King who got his start there in 1948. In 1950 Wolf was joined with future rock/rockabilly/country stars Reggie Young, Ace Cannon, Ronald Smith, Eddie Bond, Kenneth Herman, and a bunch more. In 1952 Wolf & most of the Bluesmen headed for Chicago...Chess Records. They all recorded for Sam Phillips. In fact of the first 48 records recorded by Sam before he started the SUN Label, 42 were recorded by artists from KWEM Radio. In 1953 Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Johnny & Dorsey Burnette, and many others got their start at KWEM and were at KWEM when discovered. Carl Perkins was even managed by KWEM's Poor Richard Stewart (Charlie Feathers brother in law. Charlie was also at KWEM.
