October 19 , 1958 - Brenda Lee records "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree". The song will be released as a single but will fail to chart in either 1958 or 1959. When it was re-released in 1960 it rose to #14 and has since become a Christmas standard, being ranked at #4 in the Top 10 All Time Christmas Songs

Charles Edward Anderson Berry (October 18, 1926 – March 18, 2017) October 18, 1947 - On his twenty-first birthday, Chuck Berry leaves jail after serving three years for armed robbery. He would go on to hang bumpers on cars in an automotive factory, a janitor in an apartment building, and then as a beautician before recording "Maybellene" for Chess Records in 1955
October 18, 1957 - Peggy Sue Gerron first heard the song that was named for her when she went to see Buddy Holly & the Crickets in concert in Sacramento, California. Gerron later married Crickets drummer Jerry Allison Picture: July 22, 1958
